This is an eclipse 100 horsepower tube boiler prior to the installation of the bon aqua water treatment system in 1994. Nominal tube OD is 3.000". Actual measurements ranged from 3.315"-3.324". This represents a loss of 25% in fuel efficiency, due to the insulating properties of the scale. Stack temperature ranged as high as 570°.

The same 100 horsepower eclipse fire tube boiler after one year of operation with the Bon Aqua water treatment system. The scale outside diameter measurements have been reduced to 3.018"-3.040". Stack temperature was reduced to 410°, a savings of over 20% in fuel economy.
